Salvadoran President Saca Gets Better Grades
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - More people in El Salvador are content with the performance of Antonio Saca, according to a poll by Consulta Mitofsky released by TCS. 61.4 per cent of respondents approve of the president’s job, up 2.8 points since February.

Ontarians Think Alleged Terror Plot Was Real
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Most people in Ontario are convinced that an alleged terror plot foiled in the summer of 2006 was a serious threat, according to a poll by Angus Reid Strategies. 59 per cent of respondents in Canada’s most populous province think that the so-called Toronto 18 really planned to attack the cities of Toronto and Ottawa.

Israelis Would Prefer McCain in White House
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Many people in Israel think having John McCain in the White House would be beneficial for their country, according to the Peace Index Project by the Tami Steinmetz Center for Peace Research and the Evens Program in Mediation and Conflict Resolution of Tel Aviv University. 46 per cent of respondents think the Republican United States presidential candidate is the better option for Israel.

New Zealanders Sympathize with National
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - A majority of people in New Zealand would support the conservative National party in the next legislative ballot, according to a poll by Roy Morgan International. 51.5 per cent of respondents would vote for the official opposition party in this year’s election to the House of Representatives, down one point since mid-June.

Illinois: Obama 50%, McCain 37%
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Democrat Barack Obama would carry his home state of Illinois in this year’s United States presidential election, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 50 per cent of respondents in the Prairie State would vote for their own U.S. senator, while 37 per cent would support Republican Arizona senator John McCain.

North Dakota: McCain 43%, Obama 43%
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - There is no clear United States presidential frontrunner in North Dakota, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 43 per cent of respondents in the Peace Garden State would vote for Republican Arizona senator John McCain, while 43 per cent would back Democratic Illinois senator Barack Obama.

Support for Legal Abortion Up in U.S.
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - More adults in the United States believe pregnancy termination should be allowed in their country, according to a poll by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press. 57 per cent of respondents think abortion should be legal in all or most cases, up six points since November.

Omar Khadr Trial Still Splits Canadians
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Adults in Canada are clearly divided on the pending legal process of Omar Khadr, according to a poll by Angus Reid Strategies. 38 per cent of respondents would leave Khadr to face trial by military commission in Guantanamo Bay, while 37 per cent demand Khadr’s repatriation to face due process under Canadian Law.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The approval rating of Chilean president Michelle Bachelet has remained stable since late last year, according to a poll by CEP. 40 per cent of respondents approve of the head of state’s performance, up one point since December.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Many people in the United States think working for the private sector is more honourable than working for the government, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 56 per cent of respondents share this opinion, while 17 per cent see more honour in serving the government.
