- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Republican John McCain could carry Alaska in this year’s United States presidential election, according to a poll by Ivan Moore Research. 54 per cent of respondents would vote for the Arizona senator, while 35 per cent would support Democratic Illinois senator Barack Obama.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The governing Labour party is gaining momentum ahead of a legislative ballot in New Zealand, according to a poll by Roy Morgan International. 44.5 per cent of respondents would support the opposition National party in November’s election, while 38 per cent would vote for Labour.

- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Germany’s conservative parties could secure a new term in office in next year’s ballot, according to a poll by Forsa released by Stern and RTL. 37 per cent of respondents would support the Christian-Democratic Union (CDU) or the Bavarian Christian-Social Party (CSU) in the next election to the Federal Diet, unchanged since late August.

Bush Worst President Ever for 26% in U.S.
- (Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Fewer adults in the United States are satisfied with the tenure of George W. Bush, according to a poll by Opinion Research Corporation released by CNN. 36 per cent of respondents say that, in comparison to other presidents, Bush has been a poor or very poor leader, while 26 per cent say he is the worst head of state the country has ever had.
