Russians See Few Problems in Relation with U.S.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) – People in Russia think bi-lateral relations with the United States are neither too friendly nor too hostile, according to a poll by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center. 14 per cent of respondents see the relationship in a positive light, while 13 per cent see it as stressed.

Meanwhile, 37 per cent of respondents deem the state of Russia-U.S relations as calm and normal, and 26 per cent perceive it as cool.

Earlier this month, U.S. president Barack Obama paid an official visit to Moscow, where he met with Russian president Dmitry Medvedev and current prime minister and former president Vladimir Putin.

On Jul. 7, Obama said his country wants better relations with Russia, saying that the two countries are not necessarily "destined to be antagonists," and adding, "The pursuit of power is no longer a zero-sum game".
