Obama Stays Ahead of McCain in Argentina

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) – Many Argentinean adults would like Barack Obama to win this month’s presidential election in the United States, according to a poll by Ibarómetro. 56.5 per cent of respondents would prefer the Democratic Party’s nominee as the next president of the North American country.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) – Many Argentinean adults would like Barack Obama to win this month’s presidential election in the United States, according to a poll by Ibarómetro. 56.5 per cent of respondents would prefer the Democratic Party’s nominee as the next president of the North American country.

Conversely, 10.4 per cent of respondents would choose Republican Party nominee John McCain, and one-third are undecided.

Obama became the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee on Aug. 28, while McCain accepted the Republican Party’s nomination on Sept. 4.

U.S. president George W. Bush is ineligible for a third term in office. The U.S. presidential election is scheduled for Nov. 4.

On Oct. 30, Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin discussed her views on global issues, saying, "In this time for choosing, the question is, ‘Which man will protect us from Osama bin Laden, from al-Qaeda, from the prospects of a nuclear-armed Iran and other grave threats to our world? Which one understands that threat?’ That man in Senator John McCain."
