(Angus Reid Global Monitor) – Most people in Slovenia are satisfied with the outcome of a recent legislative election, according to a poll by Delo. 60.6 per cent of respondents think the vote that gave the Social Democracy (SD) party a victory is good for the country.
(Angus Reid Global Monitor) – Most people in Slovenia are satisfied with the outcome of a recent legislative election, according to a poll by Delo. 60.6 per cent of respondents think the vote that gave the Social Democracy (SD) party a victory is good for the country.
Additionally, 43.5 per cent of respondents expect Slovenia’s political climate to improve after the national ballot.
Slovenians voted to elect members of the State Chamber on Sept. 21. Preliminary results gave the SD a slight lead over the Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS). The SD is expected to form a coalition government with For Real (Zares) and the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia (LDS).
On Sept. 24, SD leader Borut Pahor discussed his vision for the next government, saying, "We will need reforms in these complex economic circumstances, in order to secure the prosperity of society and the individual. Those reforms will demand bravery, and they will need to be discussion with those in the profession, the civilian society, as well as the opposition. (…) Slovenia is not politically divided, and trust needs to be established."
The State Chamber will hold its first session on Oct. 15.
