(CPOD) Jun. 29, 2003 – The approval rating for Tony Blair continues to drop in Britain, according to a poll by ICM published in The Guardian. 52 per cent of respondents are dissatisfied with the job the prime minister is doing.

Numbers for opposition leader Iain Duncan Smith of the Conservative Party are also low. Liberal-Democrat leader Charles Kennedy had the best showing.

Blair’s numbers have been tarnished by allegations that information on weapons of mass destruction in Iraq may have been doctored to make the case for war more plausible. Respondents are split on whether the invasion to remove Saddam Hussein was justified.
