(CPOD) Sept. 8, 2003 – Americans do not feel secure, according to a poll by the Pew Research Center for the People and Press. 75 per cent of respondents believe the world is more dangerous today, compared to ten years ago.
(CPOD) Sept. 8, 2003 – Americans do not feel secure, according to a poll by the Pew Research Center for the People and Press. 75 per cent of respondents believe the world is more dangerous today, compared to ten years ago.
In early September 2001, respondents were asked if the world was safer as a result of the end of the Cold War in 1991. 53 per cent of respondents disagreed. Recent terrorist attacks and armed conflicts have influenced views on world security.
George W. Bush addressed the nation yesterday, to assess the war on terrorism and the military effort on Iraq. The American president outlined his plan to request a further $87 billion U.S. from Congress to oversee the operations.
