(CPOD) Sept. 30, 2003 – George W. Bush’s rating continues to drop, according to a poll by Opinion Dynamics released by Fox News. 50 per cent of respondents approve of the president’s performance, a seven per cent slide since August.

Bush’s numbers have been affected by the long campaign in the Persian Gulf, and questions about economic policy. Since the start of the war six months ago, more than 300 American soldiers have died.

The incumbent president is tied with an unnamed Democrat in the 2004 presidential election. 39 per cent of respondents say they would be more likely to support Bush, a 12 per cent reduction since June.
