Kerry Leads All In Delaware

(CPOD) Feb. 3, 2004 – Massachusetts senator John Kerry is the top Democratic presidential hopeful in Delaware, according to a poll by American Research Group. 27 per cent of respondents would support Kerry in the state’s primary, an 11 per cent lead over Connecticut senator Joe Lieberman.

(CPOD) Feb. 3, 2004 – Massachusetts senator John Kerry is the top Democratic presidential hopeful in Delaware, according to a poll by American Research Group. 27 per cent of respondents would support Kerry in the state’s primary, an 11 per cent lead over Connecticut senator Joe Lieberman.

Former Vermont governor Howard Dean leads the rest of the field with 14 per cent, followed by North Carolina senator John Edwards. Seven states –Arizona, Delaware, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, North Dakota and South Carolina– will hold votes today.

Kerry won the New Hampshire primary on Jan. 27, as well as the Iowa caucus held on Jan. 19. Lieberman –who did not participate in Iowa– finished fifth in New Hampshire.

Democrat Al Gore won the state’s three electoral votes in the 2000 presidential election, with 55 per cent of the vote. The last Republican to carry Delaware was George H. Bush in 1988.
