(CPOD) Feb. 12, 2004 – Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva keeps a steady rating in Brazil, according to a poll by Instituto Sensus. 39.9 per cent of respondents rate the president’s performance as “excellent” or “good,” a 1.7 per cent drop since October 2003.
(CPOD) Feb. 12, 2004 – Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva keeps a steady rating in Brazil, according to a poll by Instituto Sensus. 39.9 per cent of respondents rate the president’s performance as “excellent” or “good,” a 1.7 per cent drop since October 2003.
Lula –a three-time presidential candidate– won the October 2002 election with 61 per cent of the vote in a run-off against Jose Serra.
The president’s latest policies include a proposal –backed by French president Jacques Chirac– to apply international levies on arms sales to fight poverty and hunger. Lula also suggested a trilateral commercial pact including Brazil, India and South Africa, as part of a prospective trade bloc of developing nations.
