This past weekend, Iraqi National Congress leader Ahmed Chalabi—once regarded as an important ally of the United States in the Persian Gulf—denied allegations that he leaked sensitive information to Iran. Fighting intensified in the city of Kufa, where coalition troops killed 32 Iraqis as they raided a mosque.
At least 797 American soldiers have died since the coalition effort began in March 2003. 65 per cent of respondents believe the situation for U.S. troops in Iraq is getting worse.
