(CPOD) Jun. 11, 2004 – The rating for George W. Bush appears to have stabilized in the United States, according to a poll by Gallup released by CNN and USA Today. 49 per cent of respondents approve of the president’s performance, a three per cent improvement since early May.

Yesterday, Bush declared the G-8 summit in Georgia had been “very successful.” The American president suggested to other world leaders that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) could play a broader role in Iraq by training Iraqis. Bush said that the commitment of actual NATO troops would be “an unrealistic expectation.”
The U.S. presidential election is scheduled for Nov. 2.
