(CPOD) Jun. 11, 2004 – Massachusetts senator John Kerry could carry the state of Pennsylvania in the 2004 United States presidential election, according to a poll by Zogby Interactive published in the Wall Street Journal Online. 51.5 per cent of respondents would vote for the prospective Democratic nominee, while 44.9 per cent would support Republican incumbent George W. Bush.

Bush.
Independent candidate Ralph Nader garners the support of 0.7 per cent of respondents.
Support for Kerry grew by 0.7 per cent since May, while backing for Bush went up by 2.3 per cent. The election is scheduled for Nov. 2.
The state’s 23 electoral votes went to Democrat Al Gore in 2000, with 51 per cent of the vote. The last Republican to carry Pennsylvania was George H. Bush in 1988.
