(06/11/04) - Labour Leads European Ballot In Lithuania
(CPOD) Jun. 11, 2004 – The recently created Labour Party (DP) holds the lead among Lithuanian voters in the election to the European Parliament, according to a poll by EOS Gallup Europe. 34 per cent of respondents would vote for Labour, while 21 per cent would support the Lithuanian Social-Democratic Party (LSDP).
(CPOD) Jun. 11, 2004 – The recently created Labour Party (DP) holds the lead among Lithuanian voters in the election to the European Parliament, according to a poll by EOS Gallup Europe. 34 per cent of respondents would vote for Labour, while 21 per cent would support the Lithuanian Social-Democratic Party (LSDP).
The Homeland Union – Conservatives of Lithuania (TS-LK), the New Union – Social-Liberals (NS) and the Liberal Centrist Union (LiCS) are tied for third with eight per cent. The election is scheduled for Jun. 13. On that same day, voters will elect a president to replace Rolandas Paksas, who was impeached by the Lithuanian Diet on Apr. 6.
Lithuania will elect 13 members to the 732-seat European Parliament.
