Russians Want Government To Set Fuel Prices

(Angus Reid Global Scan) – Many adults in Russia believe the federal administration should be in charge of establishing gasoline prices, according to a poll by Russian Public Opinion & Market Research. 87 per cent of respondents agree with the idea.

(Angus Reid Global Scan) – Many adults in Russia believe the federal administration should be in charge of establishing gasoline prices, according to a poll by Russian Public Opinion & Market Research. 87 per cent of respondents agree with the idea.

There is currently no government regulation of fuel prices in Russia. Last August, the cost of a gallon of gas in Russia was virtually the same as in the United States. In December, Russian president Vladimir Putin asked Russian oil companies to voluntarily lower their prices.

On Mar. 25, the price of a barrel of crude oil was $54.84 U.S.—close to the all-time high of $57.60 U.S.
