(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The Homeland Union - Lithuanian Christian Democrats party has gained some public support but remains in the low teens, according to a poll by Vilmorus. 14 per cent of respondents would vote for the ruling party in the next legislative election, up 1.2 points since January.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Poland’s former governing conservatives are ill-positioned for a return to power, according to a poll by GfK Polonia published in Rzeczpospolita. Only 27 per cent of respondents would vote for the Law and Justice Party (PiS) in the next general election, up one point since mid-January.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Hungary’s main opposition party remains well positioned to win an upcoming legislative election, according to a poll by Tarki. 61 per cent of respondents, all of whom are decided voters, would support the Hungarian Citizens Party (Fidesz) in the April ballot, down one point since January.

Canadians, Americans Differ on Political Correctness
(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - People in Canada and the United States do not see eye-to-eye when it comes to "political correctness", according to a poll by Angus Reid Public Opinion. 50 per cent of respondents in Canada support the concept, but only 41 per cent of Americans concur.

Most Bulgarians See Borissov Positively
(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Most people in Bulgaria hold a positive opinion of current prime minister Boyko Borissov, according to a poll by Alpha Research. 51 per cent of respondents share this view, while 20 per cent have a negative opinion of him. The negative perception of Borissov is up four points since December.

Austrians Divided on Chancellor Faymann
(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - People in Austria are split in their appreciation of Werner Faymann, according to a poll by OGM. 45 per cent of respondents express confidence in the current chancellor and Social-Democratic Party of Austria (SPO) leader, whereas 46 per cent say they have no confidence in him, up two points since November.

Finland’s National Rally Holds Slim Lead
(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Finnish people remain divided in their political allegiances, according to a poll by Taloustutkimus released by YLE Radio. 23.6 per cent of respondents would vote for the National Rally (KOK) in the next general election, 21.2 per cent would support the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and 19.6 per cent would back the Finnish Centre Party (KESK).

Brazil’s Rousseff Closes in on Serra
(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Dilma Rousseff is quickly gaining momentum and is now closer to presidential frontrunner Jose Serra in Brazil, according to a poll by Datafolha published in Folha de Sao Paulo. 32 per cent of respondents would vote for Serra, governor of Sao Paulo and candidate of the conservative Brazilian Party of Social Democracy (PSDB), down five points since December.

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - A proposal to return the City of Volgograd to its former name of Stalingrad is not popular in Russia, according to a poll by the Yury Levada Analytical Center. Only 17 per cent of respondents support this idea, while 59 per cent oppose it.

Australians Say Country is Too Crowded
(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Most people in Australia think their country cannot allow more inhabitants at this time, according to a poll by Essential Research. 75 per cent of respondents say the country lacks the infrastructure and proper services to support a larger population, and 61 per cent say the country’s fragile environment cannot bear the burden of a growing population.
