Americans Would Increase Offshore Oil Drilling

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Most people in the United States are at ease with the idea of expanding their country’s capabilities to drill for oil and natural gas offshore, according to a poll by Opinion Research Corporation release by CNN. 69 per cent of respondents favour increased offshore drilling, and 51 per cent believe this activity would reduce the price of gasoline in the next year. more...

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - The popularity of Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd remains strong, according to a poll by Newspoll published in The Australian. 57 per cent of respondents are satisfied with Rudd’s job as head of government, down one point since early August.

Sarkozy’s Standing Improves in France

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - More people in France now regard Nicolas Sarkozy in a positive light, according to a poll by Ipsos published in Le Point. 44 per cent of respondents have a favourable opinion of their president, up five points since July.
